BRAND PROFILE
CEDAR & PINE was launched as a boutique label by designer Nishant Vashisht with his business partner Rahul Agarwal in February 2021. The duo envisaged this label as a smart and cost-effective Indian occasion wear clothing line and inaugurated it with a boutique store in Almora, a small and beautiful province in Uttarakhand and also Rahul’s hometown
The name Cedar & Pine comes from the names of these two beautiful trees that grow in the mountains and emphasize the love for nature and wilderness that is common to both Nishant and Rahul. This love for nature also translates to preference to simplicity and uncluttered sense of design and aesthetic which is at the core of the brand.
The brand is focused on designing and retailing occasion wear for women who are looking for something fashionable and contemporary; appropriate for Indian occasions but not too heavy or embellished with traditional embroideries. The brand believes that fashion can be easy, fun and accessible and doesn’t always have to be an heirloom investment
With an overwhelming response of their social media and website, the brand decided to make their business purely online and closed their Almora store. With their studio and workshop based in Delhi, Cedar & Pine is retailing fr the om themultilti-brandn website and also through multi brand outlets like Aza and Aashni + Co
DESIGNER PROFILE
Graduated from NIFT New Delhi in 2004, Nishant started his career in the fashion industry
with a short stint as junior design with JJ Valaya. Later on, moving on to many different jobs
and roles he got to work with notable couture designer Tarun Tahiliani with whom he spent
most number of years and learnt the valuable lessons about designing for the Indian
occasion wear industry
Nishant likes to design with a clean and balanced aesthetic always leaning towards a
contemporary blend of colours, styling and silhouettes even when designing Indian
traditional wear
During the recent pandemic Nishant finally decided to start his own entrepreneurial journey and began working towards creating a fashion label which would be his own. In February 2021 the label Cedar & Pine was launched
